A. Ozturk et Mc. Ece, UNSTEADY FORCED-CONVECTION HEAT-TRANSFER FROM A TRANSLATING AND SPINNING BODY, Journal of offshore mechanics and Arctic engineering, 117(4), 1995, pp. 318-323
The initial laminar thermal boundary-layer flow past an impulsively st
arted translating and spinning rotational symmetric body of uniform te
mperature is investigated. Velocity components and temperature are exp
anded in series in powers of time. Lending and first-order functions a
re obtained analytically, second and third-order functions are determi
ned numerically. Application of the general results to a sphere shows
that the surface heat flux is reduced in the neighborhood of the point
of separation and enhanced by the reversed flow inside the separated
region.
