In order to achieve a better control of the final characteristics of n
ickel molybdate catalysts employed in the oxidative dehydrogenation of
propane, a study of the dependence of the catalytic activity upon the
preparation methods has been undertaken. A new oxalic precursor is co
mpared to those precipitated from an ammonia solution and is particula
rly studied because it leads to more selective phase beta stabilized a
t room temperature.
