A realistic simulation of gas puffing system of SINP tokamak has been
carried out. In this the distribution of pressure as a function of tim
e in the SINP tokamak is calculated using lumped circuit analysis. Ima
ginary nodes are introduced to take into account the volume of the tub
ings. Results of the calculation agree qualitatively with the experime
ntal results. The model is used to suggest modification of the gas puf
fing system to make the system more responsive. The results of the mod
ification carried out on this basis are shown to agree with the result
s expected on the basis of model. The effect of this modification on t
okamak discharge parameters is demonstrated. Future plans to incorpora
te density feedback system by making gas-puffing system even more resp
onsive is discussed.
