This paper describes a real-time response of UNIDAQ[1,2]. Interrupt ta
sk response time and task switching (context switching) time are measu
red for real-time UNIX (LynxOs) systems and standard UNIX systems. Her
e we show the correlation between the context switching time and the v
alues of a benchmark program, SPECint92. We also show distributions of
the response time for various operating systems (OS). A performance e
valuation tool, DAQBENCH[3], was used for the measurements.
