Abstract
A convenient new method was developed for the preparation of 1'-substi tuted-1-bromoferrocenes which are important precursors for the prepara tion of 1', 1triple prime-disubstituted-biferrocenes. This method can also be applied to prepare asymmetrical disubstituted ferrocenes, whic h are potentially useful materials possessing non-linear optical and l iquid crystalline properties.
