Abstract
The gross features of the recently observed ultraviolet band system of InOH are explained in terms of transitions from the ground (1)A' to c omponents of an excited triplet state in which the molecule is also be nt. The triplet state correlates with a (3) Pi state in the linear con figuration and is subject to a large Renner-Teller effect.
