Several groups have reported on the electrochemical analysis of Pd(II)
in various media [1-5]. In connection to the palladium determination
in various samples, the effect of -N-(5,6-dimethoxy-4-pyrimidinyl)benz
enesulfonamide (sulfadoxine) was not discussed. In many cases, however
, the electrode surface can be changed during the drop life, mainly du
e to the slow adsorption of trace amounts of surface active contaminan
ts in the solution. With sulfadoxine, palladium does not adsorb on the
electrode surface and is reduced rapidly. The purpose of the present
study is to examine the applicability of this method to determine pall
adium in the solutions containing sulfadoxine, and derive a polarograp
hic method for determination of Pd(II) in synthetic- and alloy samples
.
