Abstract
Soil respiration has been analyzed for the whole territory of Russia. Numerous data on carbon dioxide emission under various cenoses in all the soil-climatic zones of Russia have been organized into a data bank . A map has been compiled presenting CO2 emissions by soils, and the t otal amount for the country has been computed. Natural CO2 sources are assessed as predominating over the technogenic ones in Russia for the next years.
