Abstract
Published models describing equilibrium concentrations of organic poll utants in dilute aqueous solutions on activated carbon powder are comp ared with published experimental data. In this paper their reliability is examined on the basis of the accuracy with which they represent th e experimental data. It is noticed that each model has restrictive val idity for the conditions that were derived. Therefore, an attempt is m ade to develop a generalized relation to cover the entire spectrum of multi-solute adsorption data.
