H. Aronow et al., SILENT ISCHEMIC CARDIOMYOPATHY AND LEFT COROLLARY OSTIAL STENOSIS SECONDARY TO RADIATION-THERAPY, Clinical cardiology, 19(3), 1996, pp. 260-262
A 55-year-old woman presented with profound congestive heart failure 2
3 years following mediastinal radiation. Ejection fraction (EF) was 35
%. Symptoms markedly improved and EF increased to >55% following saphe
nous vein bypass for greater than or equal to 80% ostial left main ste
nosis. Radiation therapy, a known risk factor for coronary atheroscler
osis, may pre sent with reversible severe silent ischemia.
