The construction and performance characteristics of ion-selective memb
rane electrodes for imipramine based on ion association complexes with
picrate, picrolonate and tetraphenylborate in a liquid and polyvinyl
chloride matrix are described. The electrodes show a near Nerstian res
ponse over various ranges depending on the nature of the counter ion.
The electrodes could be used in potentiometric titrations to determine
imipramine in substance and in pharmaceutical preparations.
