Abstract
In this paper, we derive a characterization of all stable closed loop systems with H(infinity)-norm strictly less than 1 which we can obtain via a suitable stabilizing feedback. We give an exact characterizatio n. However, this characterization contains relatively implicit constra ints on the free parameter. We also introduce an ''approximate'' chara cterization parameterized via a stable system X with H(infinity)-norm less than 1 (and no other conditions on X). A element of this approxim ate characterization can be arbitrarily well approximated by a closed loop system we can obtain via a suitable stabilizing feedback.
