Abstract
Poly chlorinated and brominated aromatic hydrocarbons and ethers are c atalytically reduced by Cu(I)benzoate under Dow-Phenol conditions in t he absence of air. This homogeneous catalytic reaction is very robust and can be transformed into a promising future environmental technolog y for some specific halogenated waste streams.
