The kinetics of the reaction between nitrite and excess deoxy hemocyan
in (Hc) is presented. The rate of disappearance of both reactants is e
qual to the rate of formation of the products, half-met hemocyanin and
NO. Quantitative analyses accounted for all species in the following
reaction, in which oxidation of one Cu(I) per binuclear site occurs up
