Abstract
For 20 subjects the ''distance'' between midpoint pair options and pre dicted midpoints for rectilinear and circumplex models is reported usi ng 24 Lightfoot photographs. Data were more compatible with the rectil inear model so respondents were probably nor using polar coordinates i n representing facial expressions internally.
