Abstract
Reactivity of some ethynylpiperidol derivatives in radical homo- and c opolymerization and specific features characteristic of the formation of network structure of related cross-linked polymers are reviewed. Sp ecial emphasis is made on the examination of sorption properties of th e swollen copolymers with respect to water, triiodide ions, bilirubin, and serum albumin. The interactions between a polymer and a substrate are interpreted in terms of heterogeneous ion exchange process. For e thynylpiperidol polymers, the specific features of this reaction are d iscussed, Biological activity of these polymers makes them an interest ing object for applied biochemistry and medicine.
