Abstract
Four heavy metals (Copper, Cadmium, Lead and Zinc) are monitored in dr inking water at twelve important residential areas using DPASV Techniq ue. The results indicate the water to free of heavy metal pollution. T he data monitored have been used to compute Heavy metal pollution inde x (HPI) using weighted arithmetic mean method and the proposed Polluti on index (HPI) seems to be applicable in the assesement of overall wat er quality with respect to heavy metal pollution.
