Abstract
The RhCl(PMe(3))(2)CO complex was shown to catalyze hydrogenation of h exanal to hexanol at room temperature and at hydrogen pressure above 5 0 atm. The reaction rate significantly increases when the system is ir radiated with light (lambda > 340 nm), and the hexanol yield reaches 3 0 mol/mol (Rh) for 4 h and at room temperature.
