Abstract
Aluminium Elliott traps are widely used in mammal studies in Australia . They are acknowledged to be effective on many species of small mamma ls, but the lack of a locking mechanism to prevent escape is an appare nt limitation. This paper describes a modification to the trap to impr ove animal retention.
