Abstract
The change of photon echo polarization by an external electric field i s investigated. An electric field removes the equivalence of three sub groups of ions differing in the directions of the local symmetry axes, so that the polarization and the intensity of a photon echo are chang ed. For the first time the Stark shift 32 +/- 0.5 kHz/V cm(-1) and the difference of electric dipole moments 0.006 D for the H-3(4)(Gamma(1) )P-3(0)(Gamma(1)) transition in LaF3:Pr3+ are found experimentally.
