The prevalence of multipole transitions over dipole ones is a characte
ristic feature of nuclear radiation processes. We consider here quadru
pole gamma superradiance. The ways of macroscopic quadrupole formation
are discussed. The superradiance kinetics is analyzed by means of the
method of the nonequilibrium statistical operator. The superradiance
intensity is shown to be proportional to the fourth degree of the numb
er of particles, although the proportionality coefficient is rather sm
all.
