Abstract
treatment of the title compounds with acyl halide and Lewis acid affor ds unsaturated ketones (mainly alpha-beta with aluminium chloride, sel ectively beta-gamma with silver tetrafluoroborate). Reduction of the a lkenyl group gives polyfunctional ketones.
