The method of the average field is employed to study the second-order
displacive phase transition in ferroelectric solid solutions. Computat
ion of the free energy of the solid solution is made for ferroelectric
and paraelectric phases. Temperature dependences of the spontaneous p
olarization, concentration dependences of the phase transition tempera
ture, Curie constant, and dielectric susceptibility as well as the con
dition for the existence of the phase transition in mixed crystals are
obtained.
