B. Thiele et al., INFLUENCE OF PHOSPHOLIPID LIPOSOMES (PLL) ON UVB-INDUCED ERYTHEMA FORMATION, Archives of dermatological research, 285(7), 1993, pp. 428-431
Application of liposomal phospholipids (Natipide II) caused a signific
ant decrease in erythema induced by UVB (280-312 mm) in patients with
skin types II and III (n = 31). In accordance with findings in other o
rgans, e.g. liver, the present findings suggest that phospholipids are
capable of reducing H2O2 formation and/or increasing glutathione synt
hesis in human skin, thus reducing erythema formation by preventing ox
idative stress.
