Hj. Bullinger et al., INNOVATIVE PRODUCTION STRUCTURES - PRECONDITION FOR A CUSTOMER-ORIENTATED PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT, International journal of production economics, 41(1-3), 1995, pp. 15-22
The western industry is facing changing markets and paradigms such as
drastically decreasing product lifetimes and fierce international comp
etition. Now product quality, time to market and costs are all equally
essential. The production management of the future lies in culturally
adapted and less complex structures: The way to process-orientated de
centralized structures which are characterized by a customer-orientate
d enterprise, starts in the heads of the management and the employees.
Based on the principles of company philosophy, human resources as a d
ecisive factor, preventative quality assurance, appropriate market ori
entation, production as an integrated process and continuous professio
nal and social training of staff, an individually adapted organization
al concept involving all departments of a company in the value-added c
hain can be developed and realized.
