Abstract
Bath sampling was performed using specially designed devices to study suspended particles present in continuous zinc hot dip galvanising bat hs with aluminium concentrations ranging from that of Galvannealed to that of Galfan. Results show that intermetallic particle composition d epends on aluminium concentration and bath temperature, and also that particle distribution in the bath is uniform. Particles are about 20-3 0 mu m in diameter and are mainly of the Fe2Al5-xZnx type with a zinc concentration ranging from about 17 to nearly 25 wt-%.
