P. Lazarczyk et al., MAGNETIC SPECIFIC-HEAT STUDY OF THE COMPETITION BETWEEN FERROMAGNETICAND ANTIFERROMAGNETIC SPIN-SPIN EXCHANGE INTERACTIONS IN PBSNMNTE, Acta Physica Polonica. A, 90(5), 1996, pp. 891-894
Magnetic contribution to the specific heat, magnetic susceptibility an
d Hall effect are experimentally studied in Pbl(1-x-y)Sn(y)Mn(x)Te sem
imagnetic semiconductors with y = 0.72 and x = 0.08 and with different
carrier concentrations 10(20) less than or equal to p less than or eq
ual to 10(21) cm(-3). The ferromagnetism observed in crystals with p >
3 x 10(20) cm(-3) breaks down with a decreasing concentration of carr
iers due to an increasing competition between Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Y
oshida and superexchange interactions.
