Mv. Rane et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF BAFE12-2XSCOXZRXO19 LESS-THAN-OR-EQUAL-TO-X-LESS-THAN-OR-EQUAL-TO-0.5) SYNTHESIZED BY CITRATE GEL PRECURSOR ROUTE, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 153(1-2), 1996, pp. 1-4
The properties of Co-Zr substituted barium hexaferrite, synthesized by
a citrate gel route, have been studied and optimized for recording me
dia. The large variation in coercivity and other magnetic properties h
as been examined in the light of reduction in anisotropy, variation in
particle size and plausible distribution of cations on the five magne
tic sublattices. Mossbauer spectroscopy suggests the presence of super
paramagnetic particles in samples heated at 1170 K. These studies also
suggest that substitutions in Co-Zr system are different from those i
n similar systems such as Co-Ti substituted hexaferrites.
