Abstract
This paper presents the results of an experimental study of the temper ature dependence of the magnetization and paramagnetic susceptibility in pure gadolinium after severe plastic deformation. A significant dec rease in the effective magnetic moment was established, which is expla ined on the basis of an analysis of the structural changes in the samp le after deformation.
