Iy. Lee et al., [PPN](2)[CR-2(CO)(10)], A SALT OF THE DIMERIC CR-1- CARBONYL COMPLEX WITHOUT A COORDINATING COUNTERION, Acta crystallographica. Section C, Crystal structure communications, 52, 1996, pp. 292-294
The Cr1- carbonyl complex bis[bis(triphenylphosphine)iminium] decacarb
onyldichromate(2-), [PPN](2)-[Cr-2(Co)(10)], (1), where [PPN](+) is [(
Ph(3)P)(2)N](+), has been prepared by naphthalenide reduction of a Cr-
0 precursor followed by counterion metathesis to introduce a noncoordi
nating cation. The [Cr-2(CO)(10)](2-) dianion in (1) is structurally s
imilar to that in a previously characterized salt with a [K(DME)(2)]() counterion (DME = dimethoxyethane), despite the loss of the solid-st
ate ion pairing present in the [K(DME)(2)](+) salt.
