Abstract
The title compound, C19H18N2O2, has an extended conformation at the ce ntral pentanediyl chain. The molecule has approximate twofold symmetry through atom C(9), The dihedral angle between the end-to-end phenyl r ings is 1.3(1)degrees, indicating the overall planarity of the molecul e, This facilitates stacking of the phenyl rings in the crystal.
