Abstract
The dynamics of an imploding Z-pinch is examined by using a 1.5-dimens ional model for the case of initially condensed fusion fuel. The Z-pin ch implosion is studied under conditions when the contribution of radi ation losses to the energy balance is significant. It is shown that th e resulting radiative collapse may be conducive to obtaining plasmas w ith thermonuclear parameters.
