Abstract
The results of a numerical simulation of the interaction of ultra-high -intensity laser radiation with an overdense relativistic plasma are p resented. A study is made of specific features of the interaction, inc luding the deep penetration of the radiation into the overdense plasma and the generation of vortex structures. The role played by polarizat ion of radiation is analyzed. The basic mechanisms for the absorption of incident radiation are studied.
