Abstract
Varietal differences in the resistance to bacterial wilt and nutrient uptake of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) seedlings were examin ed in pot experiments, Twenty-three tomato cultivars were classified i nto three groups based on the degree of resistance to the disease, Dif ferences in nutrient uptake among cultivars were observed for all the elements tested, and highly resistant cultivars were characterized by a high calcium uptake.
