Abstract
The study looks at the specific health risks encountered by the employ ees of gardening and horticulture. A considerable risk of accidents ex ists for this professional group generally known under the designation ''landscape gardeners'', one cause of which is their use of powered c hain saws and other machinery. Alongside degenerative disorders of the joints caused by machine-induced mechanical vibrations and other heal th disorders, the effects of noise and noise-induced hearing loss are of particular significance. Possible preventive measures are discussed .
