Abstract
Resonant photoemission experiments were carried out in order to reveal the contributions of partly filled Eu 4f(7) and Gd 4f(7) shells to th e valence bands of Pb0.95Eu0.05S and Pb0.95Gd0.05S crystals. The coupl ing between these orbitals and the host electronic states is discussed .
