In non-descipt flocks 83% of kids are sold before attaining the age of
5 months and in Barbari flocks this percentage is 78.3. Cost Of reari
ng the desi kids up to 3,6 and 9 months of age was Rs 102.85, 212.43 a
nd 339.29 and that of Barbari kids was Rs 103.22, 221.54 and 337.46 re
spectively. The profitability in kid sale can be increased by 19.35% i
n small, 18.37% in medium and 33.46% in large-size flocks if the kids
are sold at the optimum age of 6 months.
