Alternative varroa control methods have occasionally been applied with
success since the appearance of varroa. Their advantage is that no ac
aricides causing persistent residues have to be used. In the long term
the good quality of the bee products can be guaranteed only under thi
s condition. It is important, therefore, that as many beekeepers as po
ssible decide to use alterative varroa control in the near future. The
treatment concepts described below will support them in making their
decision.
