F. Flam et al., SUBCUTANEOUS METASTASIS FROM AN OVARIAN-CARCINOMA DISAPPEARED FOLLOWING TAMOXIFEN THERAPY, European journal of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive biology, 64(2), 1996, pp. 225-226
In a 78-year-old woman who had been treated for a breast cancer, a sub
cutaneous metastasis was diagnosed. This metastasis disappeared follow
ing a 3-months' treatment with tamoxifen. Only then was the primary tu
mour found to be ovarian carcinoma rather than a mammary one. This and
other reports indicate that hormonal agents may also be considered as
a third line of treatment in ovarian carcinoma.
