INTRAFETAL PROSTAGLANDIN-F2-ALPHA ADMINISTRATION FOR UTERINE EVACUATION IN A CASE OF INTRAUTERINE DEATH

An original route of prostaglandin F-2 alpha administration for uterin e evacuation in a case of a midtrimester intrauterine death is present ed. The ultrasonographic study revealed a hydropic fetus with a massiv e nuchal cystic hygroma and oligohydramnios. Given our previous experi ence with intrafetal prostaglandin administration in a similar case bu t with a living fetus, we injected prostaglandin F-2 alpha into the nu chal cysts under continuous ultrasonographic guidance in order to indu ce uterine evacuation. The pregnancy was successfully terminated 16 h later.
