The high-yield access to new stable, activated phosphanylidensilanes a
nd the first arsanylidensilane enabled us to investigate the reactivit
y of these very reactive compounds. Cycloaddition and oxidation reacti
ons leads to new classes of heterocycles. For example, the first azaph
osphasiliridine as well as arsaazasiliridine derivative has been chara
cterized by X ray crystal structure determination.
