Various novel polycyclic isopropylphosphanes and tert-butylphosphanes
with nine to twenty phosphorus atoms in the molecule have been synthes
ised and structurally characterised. Moreover, several precursors of t
he tert-butyl-substituted silaphosphacubane have been identified so th
at the stepwise construction of this pentacyclic silaphosphane is now
clarified.
