Swann (1984) predicted that there should be greater circumscribed accu
racy (the ability to predict an interaction partner's behavior) than g
lobal accuracy (the ability to predict a person's behavior with others
) among well-acquainted individuals. Fraternity members in 23 four-per
son groups rated each other on Rivalry and Extroversion. Participants
then competed in a task with each of the other three group members. Ac
curacy was measured using the Social Relations Model (Kenny & Albright
, 1987). Results provided evidence of global accuracy, but very limite
d evidence of circumscribed accuracy. (C) 1996 Academic Press, Inc.
