This paper investigates the effect of unevenness in the bridge deck on
the dynamic response of single span bridge due to moving loads. For s
implicity, the moving vehicle was modeled as a single degree of freedo
m sprung mass moving with constant speed. The single span bridge was m
odeled as either a simply-supported or hinged-hinged beam. The unevenn
ess in the bridge deck is assumed to be a deterministic profile in the
shape of a sinusoidal wave. The dynamic responses considering the eff
ect of vehicle, unevenness, and bridge parameters are obtained and com
pared between the simple-supported and hinged-hinged bridges.
