Abstract
Willis and Bennett have argued that palynological evidence from southe astern Europe Fails to substantiate archaeological arguments for a 'Ne olithic transition'. In this response. we argue that Willis and Bennet t ignore the complexity of the pattern and process of Neolithicization in southeastern Europe and that the available palynological evidence is inadequate to address such issues.
