A new mathematical development has allowed the White and Dantzig metho
d of calculating equilibrium concentrations to be applied to gas mixtu
res in thermal disequilibrium. The general principle of the method rem
ains the search for the minimum free enthalpy of the mixture, but the
calculation conditions have changed since the temperature is no longer
uniform: it is therefore possible to deal with cases of mixtures of p
lasmas where the electrons are generally hotter than the heavier speci
es. The mathematical development and the development of a microcompute
r algorithm are described.
