Abstract
An investigation of the noise generation mechanism of turbulent struct ures in a subsonic air jet has been done theoretically as well as expe rimentally. Based on the results obtained, it is proposed that the rat e of change of velocities of the jet structures plays an important rol e in the generation of sound in an air jet.
