Abstract
A number of new -methyl/diethyl)-carbamoyl-substituted-1H-pyrroles (6) have been synthesized by the reaction of N-methyl/N-diethylacetoaceta mide with benzoin and various alkyl, aryl and aralkylamines in the pre sence of formic acid. Structures of these compounds have been establis hed on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral data. Compounds 6d , 6e and 6f showed appreciable antifungal activity and compound 6k and 6e showed mild antimicrobial activity.
