Abstract
The method of Probe Beam Reflection (PBD) was investigated using a sma ll copper refining system as a model. The experimental beam bending re sults were interpreted in different ways to illustrate the method and its applicabilities for measuring the concentration profiles in free c onvection cases. A new simpler method for evaluating the profiles is p resented together with the possibility to use the technique when sever al concentration profiles are occurring in a system.
