Abstract
A fuzzy adaptive filter is constructed from a set of fuzzy IF-THEN rul es that change adaptively to minimize some criterion function as new i nformation becomes available. This paper generalizes the fuzzy adaptiv e filter based on least mean squares (LMS) to include complex paramete rs and complex signals, The fuzzy filter as adaptive equalizer is appl ied to quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) digital communication wit h linear complex channel characteristics.
